5 Ways to Find the Best Dentist in your City

If you're trying to find the best dentist in your city you're not alone. Many patients come into our office and state that they've tried to find an excellent dentist to fit their needs but it's not that easy! We have some tips to help you get started:

1. Read Online Reviews

If you want to find a dentist that you can trust with your teeth, your search should begin online. Ideally, you'll know what type of dentist that you need. Your search can start with "best dentist in Langley for":

  • Adults
  • Children
  • Cosmetic dentistry

You'll find many ads and dental practice pages listed, but scroll down and look for Yelp and Rate MDs.

These sites offer reviews from actual patients who have had exams or procedures done at the office. Take your time reading through reviews to gain insight into what people like and don't like about a particular dentist.

If you notice that all of the reviews were posted on the same day or in a short time span, you'll want to question the reviews. But, of course, you can always click on the reviewer's profile and see what other reviews they have left.

Reviews from dozens of people that have left no other reviews in the past should be scrutinized.

2. Read Through Google Reviews

If you find a dentist that you're interested in trying, you can and should look through their Google reviews. You can simply search the dental practice's name or address and then look for their Google reviews page.

The local listing page will have reviews, in most cases, from past and current patients that have visited the dental office in the past.

You can learn a lot about the practice and how they care for their patients by simply reading through a few of these reviews and seeing what others have to say. Plus, if the practice replies to reviews that are left, you can learn a lot about their level of customer service and if they genuinely care about the experience, others have had in their office.

3. Using Social Media to Find Your Perfect Dentist

Social media is a great tool to find a dentist, plumber, doctor – anything you need. For example, Facebook pages for the dentist will allow you to see others in the local area that have visited the dentist before.

If you know these people, you can ask about their experience for a first hand account of what to expect when visiting the dentist.

When you're on the practice's page, browse over to the reviews section to see if others have shared their experience with the dentist. Often, if you're from the area and have been in Langley for a few years, you'll see people that you know who have been to the dentist, too.

Use these reviews and recommendations to learn more about the dentist you want to schedule an appointment with.

A lot of people are also using Facebook to:

  • Ask for referrals from friends
  • Ask about friends' experience with a dentist

If you use the platform correctly, you'll learn a lot about the dentist you plan on using.

4. Referrals are Going to Provide the Best Results

Referrals are the most reliable form of lead generation in the marketing world. When a family or friend recommends a dentist, it more often than not leads to someone scheduling an appointment at the practice.

At our Langley office, we can attest to the power of referrals first hand.

We treat generations of families, so we'll often treat a person's:

  • Children
  • Spouse
  • Mother or father
  • Grandparents

Through our treatment of multiple generations of family members, we're able to have a clear understanding of a person's dental history and risks. Additionally, it makes logical sense for families to come into our office at once.

If you're a parent with children, you can schedule multiple appointments at once.

You'll save time by going to one dentist's office. For many of our patients and us, this is one of the main reasons people love our office.

When you're struggling to find a dentist that you can trust, reach out to your friends and family, jot down the dental office names, do your own research and find a dentist that you love working with.

5. Try Multiple Dentists When You've Tried Everything Else

If you've tried everything on this list and still can't seem to find a dentist that you like and trust, your last option is to go to multiple dentists. It's crucial to find a dentist that you like, and it can take a lot of time and effort to find just the right dentist for you or even hygienists with gentle touches if you have receding gums. or are concerned with periodontitis or Covid-19.

There's no clause that says you must continue going to the same dentist if you don't like their approach to dentistry.

Some dentists are gentle, kind and explain everything to patients, and others try to fit in as many patients as they can a day. You might like the latter dentist if you're extremely busy and need to get in and out of the office as quickly as possible.

However, if you have kids or a phobia of going to the dentist, you might prefer the first type of dentist.

You'll also need to consider your needs. If you need a general, family dentist, you'll find a lot of options in Langley. On the other hand, you may also find that you need extensive cosmetic work done, and many dentists don't offer advanced cosmetic procedures.

Take the time to find a dentist that can satisfy most of your dental needs.
